Michelob Amber Bock
This beer is brewed by Anheuser-Busch and is a very good example of what a good beer in the average store can be. It is found nearly everywhere that Busch/Budweiser products are sold. It is a middle of the line beer with a taste and richness that easily can be compared to the more expensive beers on the market today. Certainly if you want a Full Bodied beer you have better options: Bass and Guinness come to mind. But for the average Joe Sixpack looking for an adventure into finer beers than Schlitz this is a great starter beer for the novice connossieur.
It's price is very reasonable scaling well with the rest of the Michelob family of beers, around $4.50 - $7.00 for a six pack. All in all it is a wonderful value for your evening of class. I drink it fairly regularly because of its value to taste ratio. It is very smooth, if you aren't paying attention, you could easily down your whole six pack very quickly. Drinking it fast is not only a waste of good beer (not the beer itself being wasted but the taste and experience) it can be more dangerous than many other run-of-the-mill beers, at over 5% alcohol by volume it will certainly take you fewer to get your OWI/DUI/DWI. So be responsible., if you get too crazy on the average 3-4.5% beers you may want to start out pretty slow, and the taste makes that an enjoyable experience. All in all I would have to recommend this beer to everyone, be it the average beer drinker or the seasoned beer afficianado. Drink it and be merry. www.michelob.com The Beer Guide at biph.com
