I found this beer at the local grocery store today, and thought I might give it a shot. Normally, I won't buy anything in a green bottle that isn't Rolling Rock, but you only live once. After getting it home I realized that these are not twist-off bottle tops, fortunately I had a bottle opener unpacked (I just moved). Then came the drinkin'. I cracked one open and took a swig, whilst perusing the beer's official website at anheuser.com. They had nothing but praise for their accomplishments. I of course do not have such a one-sided view of their beer, afterall I just laid down $8.00 for a six pack, and at such a price, I want great beer. It isn't bad, don't get me wrong. It has a very European taste, which comes from the European hops used in the brewing process. I personally think European hops taste a bit skunky, but that's just me, I like Washington and Oregon hops. The malts used for the beer are quite good, I cannot complain about them at all. I like them but wish that there was more of the darker malt in the blend. I prefer darker beers or cheap American beers, I'm a nut for cheap ballpark beer. All in all, this is a good beer, and I would recommend it to anybody who enjoys European brews. If however, you are like me and prefer richer beers more like the European beers made on the islands of Britain and Ireland, there are better brews. Heineken drinkers would love this stuff. www.anheuser.com The Beer Guide at biph.com
